Details: A high-functioning layerable shell is mandatory as far as we’re concerned. Adept over a fleece knit, vest, or t-shirt. Built of lightweight water-resistant nylon, they’ve shaped this garment to provide ample coverage around the head (full noggin shape) with a hood that’s double-layered for durability and extra water resistance. Breathe-thru underarm mesh panels help keep things from getting sticky in hotter climes. And sure, they included a longer darted drop-tail for extra coverage when running, seated, or cycling on those awesome torrential days, but mainly because such details remind us of things “purpose-built” and just make it look more right.
